Mountains and Basins

Mountains and Basins.

Climate: Driest region in Texas, it gets 0-16 in. of rainfall per year, it remains warm, and nights are cool.

Wildlife:  In the Mountains and Basins there are: mountain lions, coyotes, rattlesnakes, horned toads, bighorn sheep, roadrunner, and quail.

Vegetation: Three types of vegetation from the Mountains and Basins are: Hinckley’s Oak, Big toothed Maples, and Chisos red Oak.

I learned that even though the region is the driest in Texas and gets little rain, there are many ranches full of livestock and cattle.
